Review of A&E St Peters written by a family member
24th December 2020

All the staff were amazing looking after my son. We didn’t wait long and as soon as they knew what was wrong we were whisked to a bed and he was completely checked over. Left after a few hours with a baby boy feeling a whole lot better!

The wait was quite long but it was Christmas in a global pandemic so not a complaint at all.

Safe, clean and efficient. Quite excellent given the constraints that Covid is putting on your systems. We were triaged, glued back together and out of the door again within 20 minutes. Thank you.

Review of Urgent Treatment Centre - Adult written by a patient

I was very happy with the care I received - I had to undergo a number of tests and the process was fully explained to me, what the steps would be and what to expect, so I felt calm throughout.

Suggested improvements
The only slight annoyance, was that having registered at the temporary A&E entrance (opposite the main hospital building), I then had to registed again at the A&E department in the main hospital building (confirm my details, next of kin etc.). It felt like an administrative burden for the hospital and unnecessarily bureaucratic. I would have thought that if you've registered once, that should be all that's required. But that was a very minor observation in what was otherwise an excellent hospital experience.

Consultant rejected referral from UTC doctor without any evidence. Absolutely shocking service, no care at all. Did not receive a call back informing me either.

Suggested improvements
Given me a call back and also not rejected referral without examination.

I was seen fairly promptly and I was carefully handled everywhere and in the provided wheelchair as I came for X-ray to a fractured ankle bone.

Suggested improvements
Keeping patients further apart as sat a bit too close
